The Hotarukan Tomiya Shokudo is a museum dedicated to the memory of Tome Torihama and her interactions with local residents and kamikaze pilots during World War II. Located in Chiran Town, Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture, it's accessible by a 32-minute bus ride from Hirakawa Station. The museum recreates the atmosphere of the original Tomiya Shokudo, where Torihama, affectionately known as the "Kamikaze Mother," provided meals and support to young pilots. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring letters, photographs, and artifacts that offer a poignant glimpse into the lives of these individuals and the sacrifices they made. Admission is ¥500 for adults and ¥300 for children.
