Hakodate City Tropical Botanical Garden

Overview

Located in Hakodate's Yunokawa Onsen area, the Hakodate City Tropical Botanical Garden is easily accessible by bus from Hakodate Station. This botanical garden features approximately 3,000 tropical plants of around 300 species within its polygonal grounds. A highlight is the monkey mountain where Japanese macaques bathe in a hot spring from December to Golden Week in May. Visitors can also enjoy seeing squirrels, koi fish, and parakeets. The garden offers barrier-free facilities, including wheelchair rentals and accessible restrooms, making it a comfortable visit for everyone.
