The Chikugo River Lift Bridge, once the longest of its kind in the East, is now a pedestrian walkway offering a unique historical experience. Located in Saga City, Saga Prefecture, it's easily accessible by bus from Saga Station Bus Center, followed by a short walk. This nationally designated Important Cultural Property and Mechanical Engineering Heritage site features a central section that still lifts several times a day, allowing visitors to witness its impressive mechanism. Enjoy scenic views of the Chikugo River and explore the adjacent cycling road along the former Saga railway line.
