Shima-zato Osato Gusuku

Overview

Explore the historic Shima-zato Osato Gusuku, a castle ruin with scenic views of Nakagusuku Bay's southern coast, including Kudaka Island and Maten Port. Built by the Osato Aji, a member of the Nanzan royal family, this site offers a glimpse into the Ryukyu Kingdom's past. While the stone walls are partially crumbled, the area is now a park with walking paths and observation points. Visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas and a sense of the area's historical significance. Located in Nanjo City, it's accessible by bus from Naha Bus Terminal. The best time to visit is during the day to fully appreciate the views.
