Located near Nakanohashi Bridge in Okunoin, Mount Koya, the "Sweating Jizo" is enshrined in a small hall. This Jizo is said to take on the suffering of people, always appearing to be sweating. Next to the hall is the "Well of Reflection," where it's said that if your reflection doesn't appear, you have only three years to live. While the Jizo itself may be difficult to see inside the hall, the site is a popular stop for pilgrims. Visit during the day as part of your Okunoin pilgrimage to appreciate this unique and compassionate Jizo.
