The Neodani Usuzumi Sakura is a renowned ancient cherry tree located in Motosu, Gifu Prefecture, celebrated as one of Japan's three great cherry trees. Estimated to be over 1,500 years old, this magnificent tree is known for its blossoms that transition from pale pink to white and finally to a smoky gray hue as they scatter. Visitors can access the site via a 15-minute walk from Tarumi Station on the Tarumi Railway. The best time to visit is during the full bloom in early April, though it can get crowded. The surrounding Usuzumi Park offers a serene environment, with local shops and food stalls lining the path from the parking area to the tree.
