The Kuwori Clan Samurai Residence Nagayamon Gate, a designated tangible cultural property of Uwajima City, stands at the northern entrance to Uwajima Castle. Originally the gate of the Kuwori family, who served as chief retainers of the Uwajima Domain, it was relocated to its current location after the war due to road expansion. While the gate was shortened during the move, it still offers a glimpse into the area's samurai history. Located near the tourist information center, it's a convenient starting point for exploring Uwajima Castle. Be prepared for a steep stone staircase if entering the castle from this point.
