Saiho-ji Temple's Fumeikaku Hall, built in 1765, offers stunning panoramic views of Takehara's preserved townscape. Located on a hill next to the main hall, this iconic structure is modeled after Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto and features a unique stage-like construction. Visitors can ascend the stage (shoes off) for an even better vantage point. The temple is a 15-minute walk from Takehara Station. Be prepared for a climb up stone steps, but the rewarding views of the town and Seto Inland Sea make it well worth the effort. Visit during the afternoon to capture the best light over the town.
