Ominato Shrine, with origins dating back to 650 AD, is a historic site dedicated to the god of archery and maritime safety. The shrine complex includes both the Okunomiya on the island of Oshima and the Satomiya on the mainland, connected by a striking vermillion bridge. Oshima itself is considered a sacred island and the shrine's forest. Visitors can explore the main hall by crossing the bridge, passing through a torii gate, and climbing 78 stone steps. The shrine offers blessings for safe voyages, abundant catches, business prosperity, and spiritual refreshment. It's a place steeped in history, visited by figures like Minamoto no Yoritomo and Akechi Mitsuhide, and is now also known as a power spot.
