Kochi Castle, completed by Kazutoyo Yamauchi, the lord of Tosa Province, is a nationally designated historical site and prefectural historical park. The castle features original architecture from the Edo period, including its main tower and Honmaru Palace, making it one of only twelve castles in Japan with an original tower. Visitors can explore the castle's grounds, admire the intricate stonework, and enjoy panoramic views of Kochi City from the top of the tower. The park also features bronze statues of Kazutoyo Yamauchi, his wife, and Taisuke Itagaki. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (last entry at 4:30 PM), with extended hours during certain periods. Admission is ¥420 for adults (free for those under 18).
