Lake Sugawa, also known as Showa Lake, is nestled within the Kurikoma Quasi-National Park, spanning Akita, Iwate, Yamagata, and Miyagi prefectures. This serene lake is surrounded by a stunning primeval forest of beeches and other broad-leaved trees, offering picturesque reflections on the water's surface. Located in Higashinaruse Village, Akita Prefecture, it's accessible by car (75 minutes from Ichinoseki IC) or bus (90 minutes from Ichinoseki Station). The lake covers an area of 7 hectares and is a great place for a quiet stroll. Visit during mid-October to see the autumn foliage. There is a parking lot and walking paths around the lake.
