Ōwashi Shrine, affectionately known as "O-Washisama" by locals, is renowned as a guardian of success and good fortune, and is particularly famous for its Tori-no-ichi festivals. The shrine is located a 15-minute walk from JR Ajiki Station on the Narita Line. A highlight is the golden eagle, a treasure said to have been donated by Kasuga no Tsubone to celebrate Takechiyo's (later the third shogun Iemitsu) ascension. The shrine also features the Konsei Daimyojin, a deity associated with fertility, adding a unique element to the visit. The annual Tori-no-ichi fair in December is a lively event worth experiencing. Visitors can explore the serene grounds and appreciate the blend of spiritual and cultural significance.
