The Kakuda Space Center, part of JAXA, focuses on research and development of space propulsion systems. Visitors can explore the Space Development Exhibition Room, which features rocket engines used in tests, composite engines, and informative panels detailing various research projects. Located in Kakuda, Miyagi Prefecture, the center is accessible by taxi from Funaoka Station or by car from the Murata or Shiraishi IC on the Tohoku Expressway. Open from 10:00 to 17:00 on select weekends and holidays (reservations required a week in advance for detailed tours). The center also offers barrier-free facilities and a free water rocket launching experience.
