Kurayoshi Yodoya is the oldest existing machiya (townhouse) in Kurayoshi, built in 1760. Once home to the Makita family, prominent merchants with ties to the wealthy Yodoya merchants of Osaka, it offers a glimpse into the Edo period. Visitors can explore the well-preserved interior, including the two-story main house and attached buildings, and learn about the history of the Yodoya lineage. Located a short walk west of the Shirakabe Dozogun (white-walled storehouse district), it's a must-see for history buffs. Free admission and guided tours are available. Open to the public, it showcases traditional architecture and seasonal displays.
