Tokiwadai Park, located near JR Nemuro Station and next to the Nemuro City Hall, is a must-visit attraction in Nemuro. The park features several monuments, including the "Historical Fact" monument commemorating the beginning of Russo-Japanese relations and a monument dedicated to the Nemuro factory workers' folk song. Visitors can even listen to the melancholic melody of the Nemuro factory workers' song by pressing a button on the monument. The park also offers a pleasant green space with lawns, typical of Hokkaido's parks, and is known as a spot for cherry blossom viewing, featuring Chishima cherry trees transplanted from Kunashir Island. It's a great place to take a stroll, learn about local history, and enjoy a relaxing break.
