Sensuikyo Gorge, located on the northern slopes of Mount Nakadake and Mount Takadake in the Aso Five Peaks, is renowned for its stunning display of Miyama Kirishima azaleas that bloom all at once in May. The gorge's name, meaning "a gorge so beautiful that even a celestial being would be intoxicated by its flowers," perfectly captures its scenic charm. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Aso caldera and the Kuju mountain range from the observation point along the walking trail. Note that the ropeway to Mount Aso is currently out of service. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available, including parking, restrooms, and support for service dogs.
