Hasedera Temple Main Hall (Stage)

Overview

The Main Hall of Hasedera Temple, also known as the stage, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the temple grounds. Built in 1650 by Tokugawa Iemitsu, this National Treasure features a unique cantilever construction similar to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. Visitors can enjoy the stunning scenery, especially the vibrant greenery in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. The temple is located at 731-1 Hatsuse, Sakurai, Nara, and is accessible via a scenic uphill walk from Hasedera Station. Be prepared for a climb up the 399-step covered stairway (Noboriro) to reach the Main Hall. The panoramic views from the stage are well worth the effort.
