Daianji Temple

Overview

Daianji Temple, located in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, is a hidden gem known for its stunning weeping cherry tree, a designated natural monument of the city that is approximately 250 years old. While less known than the weeping cherry blossoms at Zuiryuji Temple, Daianji offers a quieter, more serene viewing experience. The best time to visit is during the cherry blossom season, typically around early April, when the tree is in full bloom. The temple is situated along Route 153, a short distance from the main road, and is easily identifiable by its large weeping cherry tree. A visit to the temple can be combined with a stroll along the nearby Neba River, where a row of cherry trees lines the embankment, adding to the picturesque scenery.
