The Sagae Azalea Festival, held within Sagae Park, is part of the Sagae Spring Flower Festival. It boasts one of the largest azalea gardens in the Tohoku region, featuring 43,000 azalea bushes of 11 different varieties. The illuminated azalea garden is a must-see. Located in Sagae, Yamagata, the park is a 20-minute walk from JR Sagae Station or a 15-minute walk from JR Nishi-Sagae Station. It's also a 15-minute drive from the Yamagata Expressway Sagae Interchange. Admission is free, making it an accessible and beautiful spot to enjoy the spring blooms.
