Explore the Takeda Castle Ruins, a mountaintop castle also known as the "Tiger Crouching Castle," offering panoramic views and impressive stone walls. Located at the summit of Mount Kojo (353.7m), the ruins feature a radial layout of baileys around the central keep. The site spans approximately 100m east to west and 400m north to south, showcasing some of the best-preserved stone wall remnants in Japan. Originally built with earthen walls, the castle was later renovated with stone walls by its final lord, Akamatsu Hirohide. Access is available via taxi or bus from Takeda Station, followed by a walk. Admission is ¥500 for adults and free for high school students and younger.
