The Gunma University Faculty of Engineering Alumni Memorial Hall, a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, was originally built in the Taisho era as the Kiryu Higher Dyeing and Weaving School Auditorium. This rare Gothic-style building is a must-see for architecture enthusiasts. While currently under renovation (as of late 2024), the exterior is still worth a visit. Located on the Gunma University campus in Kiryu, it's easily accessible by bus from JR Kiryu Station. Check in with the guard at the gate before exploring the grounds to view this historic building and the adjacent gatekeeper's lodge.
