Umeya is a traditional Japanese confectionery shop located in Rusutsu village, Hokkaido, along National Route 230. Known for its miso manju, a small, bite-sized steamed bun with a sweet bean paste filling, Umeya offers a taste of local flavor. Despite the name, the manju doesn't actually contain miso. You can purchase them individually or in boxes, making them a perfect souvenir or snack. The shop has been rebuilt and is now more modern, but still retains its old-fashioned charm. Stop by for a quick treat when passing through Rusutsu.
