Hokkezu Pass, located in the northernmost part of Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park, offers breathtaking panoramic views. Situated at an altitude of 436m on the border between Uwa and Yoshida towns, the pass overlooks terraced fields and the deep blue Uwa Sea. Visitors can also find monuments dedicated to the haiku poet Sakai Mokuren, the songwriter Chosuke Ikuta, and a hymn by Kiyoo Nishimura. It is accessible by a 15-minute drive from Unomachi Station. While some reviewers noted that the view is weather-dependent, on clear days, Kyushu can be seen in the distance.
