Haguro-san Shozen-in Ogon-do is located near the entrance to Mount Haguro, a short walk from the Shukubo district. This historic temple, also known as Kogane-do, is said to have been established in 1193 when Minamoto Yoritomo prayed for victory before subjugating the Fujiwara clan of Hiraizumi. The temple is home to 33 golden-hued Kannon statues. The temple grounds feature a serene atmosphere with a Niomon gate and the Otake Dainichi-do. It is designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
