The Itoshiro Dam, completed in 1968, is a gravity arch dam located in Ono, Fukui Prefecture. While relatively small, this dam is a unique hybrid structure that combines the features of both gravity and arch dams. It plays a crucial role in the Kuzuryu River Integrated Development Project by diverting water to the Kuzuryu Dam for power generation. Visitors can observe the dam and its surroundings, though access to the top is restricted to authorized personnel only. Note that the reservoir has largely silted up over the years. Dam cards are available at the Kuzuryu Roadside Station.
