Kakuen Peak is a towering 180-meter rock formation and a symbol of the Shosenkyo Gorge in Kofu, Yamanashi. This natural monument, named after a monk who meditated at its summit, offers breathtaking views and is a popular spot for photographers. The best views are from Yume no Matsushima, a short walk from the Shosenkyo Ropeway. Visit in the morning for the best light, and be sure to explore the nearby Sengataki Falls and Ishimon rock formation. Access to Kakuen Peak requires a 15-minute walk along the Shosenkyo promenade.
