Motohiro Temple, located in the depths of Awazu Onsen town in Komatsu, Ishikawa Prefecture, is known as a temple with a red plum tree that is over a hundred years old. This Jodo Shinshu Otani-ha temple has historical significance, originating from the hermitage of Honko-bo Ryoken, who sacrificed himself to protect Shinran Shonin's 'Kyogyoshinsho' during the Yoshizaki Gobo fire. The temple's treasure is the 'Blood-stained Sacred Book' or 'Abdominal Sacred Book,' the Kyogyoshinsho that was protected at that time. A serene and culturally rich destination, especially beautiful during plum blossom season.
