Hatakeshita Onsen is a quiet hot spring area nestled along the Hoki River in the Shiobara Onsen-kyo region. Known as a retreat favored by novelist Koyo Ozaki, it's said that the protagonist of his novel "Konjiki Yasha" (The Golden Demon) stayed at a local inn here. The area offers a peaceful atmosphere with a few traditional inns, noted for their quality spring water and hospitality. Visitors can enjoy the scenic "Yurino Suspension Bridge" and the opportunity to view fireflies in the summer, indicating the river's pristine condition. The Aoba no Yu public bath, now known as Kaede no Yu, is available exclusively to guests of its owning inn. It's a serene escape for those seeking a traditional onsen experience.
