The Yunoko Sea Fireworks Festival, held in early September, takes place in the seaside hot spring town of Yunoko Onsen in Minamata, Kumamoto Prefecture. This local festival offers an intimate viewing experience with fireworks launched close to the shore. While the fireworks are primarily single shots, the proximity provides a powerful auditory experience. Access is via a 20-minute Kumamoto Sanko bus ride from Hisatsu Orange Railway Minamata Station to Yunoko, followed by a short 2-minute walk. Despite its prime location, the event is less crowded, allowing for a relaxed atmosphere along the coast.
