The Chikugo River Lift Bridge, once the longest of its kind in the East, is a historic movable bridge that allows ships to pass. Originally a railway bridge on the now-defunct Saga Line, it now serves as a pedestrian walkway connecting Fukuoka and Saga prefectures. Visitors can witness the bridge being raised and lowered at certain times, a unique spectacle of engineering. The bridge is beautifully illuminated at night, creating a romantic atmosphere. Located in Okawa City, Fukuoka, it's accessible by bus from Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station or JR Saga Station. Admission is free.
