Sekino-o Falls, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls, is located upstream of the Shonai River, a tributary of the Oyodo River. The falls feature a 40-meter wide and 18-meter high cascade, including the picturesque Odaki (male) and Medaki (female) falls. Above the falls, you'll find the Sekino-o Pot Holes, a natural monument with unique rock formations carved by pebbles and water over many years. These potholes extend 600 meters upstream and are up to 80 meters wide. You can access the falls by bus from Nishi-Miyakonojo Station (25 minutes to the "Sekino-otaki" bus stop, then a 3-minute walk) or by car from Miyakonojo IC (20 minutes, followed by a 2-minute walk from the parking area).
