Visit the birthplace of Santoka Taneda, a renowned haiku poet, located in Hofu, Yamaguchi Prefecture. While the original house no longer stands, the site features a rest area with a monument inscribed with one of Santoka's poems. It serves as the starting point for the Santoka Trail, which leads to the Santoka Furusato Museum near Hofu Tenmangu Shrine. The site is about a 10-minute walk from JR Hofu Station. Though simple, it offers a moment to reflect on the poet's life and work.
