The Imanishi Family Residence, located in Imai-cho, Kashihara, is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property dating back to the early Edo period. This grand residence, once home to the town's chief elder, showcases a unique 'Yatsu-mune' (eight-roof) construction, resembling a castle with its white-plastered walls and imposing structure. Inside, you'll find a traditional layout with a large dirt floor area and six rooms, including remnants of a courtroom and jail, reflecting the family's significant role in local governance. Note that advance reservations are required by phone or email to tour the premises. The residence is a 10-minute walk from Kintetsu Yagi-nishiguchi Station, with parking available nearby at the Kashihara City-operated Imai-cho Traffic Plaza Parking (30 minutes free).
