The Tancho Crane Natural Park, located along the Marimo National Highway in Kushiro, Hokkaido, is dedicated to the protection and breeding of red-crowned cranes. Here, over 20 cranes roam freely in a large, netted wetland, offering year-round viewing opportunities. From December to April, nearly 10 wild cranes also visit. The park is renowned for being the first in the world to successfully hatch red-crowned cranes artificially. Visitors can observe these majestic birds up close and learn about conservation efforts. The park is accessible by bus from Kushiro Station and offers barrier-free facilities.
