Miwa Dam, completed in 1959, is a gravity concrete dam on the Tenryu River system's Mibu River. It serves for flood control, irrigation, and power generation. The resulting artificial lake, Lake Miwa, is recognized as one of Japan's top 100 dam lakes. Visitors can enjoy walking paths along the lake's right bank, especially beautiful during cherry blossom season. The dam is easily accessible from the Ina Interchange via Route 152 and offers scenic views of the Southern Alps. A visitor center near the management office provides insights into the dam's history.
