Kassadam, also known as Lake Tashiro, is a rockfill dam completed in 1978. Access is somewhat challenging, requiring the use of the Dragondola or Tashiro Ropeway, which brings you to the upstream part of the dam lake. To reach the dam body itself, it's about a 3km walk (rental electric bicycles are available). Note that access to the top of the dam is prohibited. The lake is fed by the nearby Futai Dam. The surrounding area resembles a natural highland lake, offering beautiful scenery during a walk around the Tashiro Plateau. The best time to visit is during the non-winter months when the Dragondola or Tashiro Ropeway are in operation, especially during the autumn foliage season.
