Explore the ruins of Kashima Castle, built in 1807 as a branch castle of the Saga Nabeshima clan. Though most of the castle was destroyed in the Saga Rebellion of 1874, the remaining stone walls, the Akamon gate (now part of Kashima High School), and the Otemon gate offer a glimpse into its past. Today, the castle grounds serve as Kashima High School and Asahigaoka Park, a popular spot for cherry blossoms. It's an easily accessible historical site with free parking, perfect for a quick visit while touring the area.
