Located within the Kizuna-no-Eki in Ishinomaki, the Ishinomaki New Z is a moving memorial to the Great East Japan Earthquake. It primarily features handwritten wall newspapers created by the Ishinomaki Hibi Shimbun, offering a glimpse into the immediate aftermath of the disaster and the resilience of the local community. The facility is a 10-minute walk from JR Ishinomaki Station. It's open from 10:00 to 18:00 (until 17:00 from December to February), closed on Mondays (except during Golden Week). Admission is free, making it an accessible and important place to reflect on the events of 2011.
