Hasedera Niomon Gate

Overview

The Niomon Gate at Hasedera Temple, rebuilt in 1894, serves as the temple's main entrance and is designated as an Important Cultural Property. This imposing gate features powerful Nio statues on either side, creating a striking first impression. Visitors pass through this gate to begin their ascent via the covered stairway, known as the Noboriro, leading to the main hall. The gate offers scenic views of the approach and surrounding temple town. The gate is particularly beautiful when framed by the blue sky or the autumn foliage.
