Overview

Oomiya is a Japanese restaurant located along the national route on the east side of Kuji City, Iwate Prefecture. It offers a variety of local seafood dishes, including rice bowls, set meals, and noodle dishes like udon and soba. A notable offering is the "Tairyo Funamori Gozen," a special seafood platter featuring sea urchin rice balls, grilled sea urchin, abalone skewers, scallop skewers, pickled mackerel, and mamebu tempura. This dish is exclusively available to passengers on the "Kotatsu Train" bound for Miyako, departing from Kuji Station at 12:15 PM. Reservations for the Kotatsu Train (300 yen) and pre-orders for the meal (placed at least two days in advance) are required. Solo travelers are welcome to enjoy this unique dining experience.
