Visit Minomushi-an, the residence of Basho's disciple Hattori Dohō and one of the five Basho hermitages. This well-preserved Edo-era hermitage is named after Basho's poem, "Come listen to the sound of the minomushi at my grass hut." Located in Iga, Mie Prefecture, it's a 15-minute walk from Ueno-shi Station or a 5-minute walk from Kayumachi Station on the Iga Railway. Explore the tranquil grounds, admire the aged buildings, garden stones, trees, and moss, and immerse yourself in the world of wabi-sabi. The best time to visit is during the autumn foliage season. Admission is ¥300 for adults.
