Overview

Koyasu Kannon-do Hall is a small, historic thatched-roof temple located on a hill at the far end of Ouchi-juku, a preserved post town in Fukushima Prefecture. Revered as a guardian of childbirth and children's health, it offers a tranquil spot to pray for safe delivery and the well-being of youngsters. The hall is situated near the Ouchi-juku observation point, providing stunning panoramic views of the traditional thatched-roof houses lining the old street below. While the temple itself is usually closed to the public except during its annual festival on May 17th, the breathtaking vista of Ouchi-juku makes it a worthwhile visit. Access is a 10-minute drive from Yunokami Onsen Station, though reaching the temple involves climbing steep stone steps or a gentler slope.
