Bodai Zen Temple, founded approximately 270 years ago by Dōritsu, houses a significant cultural property: a wooden standing statue of Amitabha Buddha. This statue, dating back to the Fujiwara period, is one of the last remaining pieces to have survived historical fires. Located in Konan City, Shiga Prefecture, the temple is a 10-minute drive from Kosei Station. Visitors can explore the temple grounds and view historic stone Buddhist images and pagodas that survived past conflicts. Open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, reservations are required to visit this serene temple, which offers a glimpse into the region's rich Buddhist heritage.
