Explore the historic site of Masushima Castle in Hida Furukawa, a strategic flatland castle built by Kanamori Nagachika in 1589. Though primarily ruins today, you can still see remnants of the yagura (turret) base stone walls and a section of the moat. The Masushima Tenman Shrine, along with the Gokura Inari Shrine, now sits atop the former yagura site. Visit the Hida Furukawa Festival Museum to purchase a Goshuin (castle seal) for ¥300 and get a commemorative stamp on your visit card. Located a 5-minute walk from Hida-Furukawa Station, it's an easy addition to your exploration of the town.
