Mount Yotei, often called "Ezo Fuji" due to its resemblance to Mount Fuji, is a stunning destination in Hokkaido's Shikotsu-Toya National Park. This 1898-meter stratovolcano offers four distinct climbing routes, with the journey from the Rusutsu entrance taking approximately 4 hours (6km). The mountain is home to around 260 species of alpine plants. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from the summit and explore the surrounding towns like Kutchan, Kyogoku, and Niseko, each offering unique vantage points. The best time to visit is during spring or autumn when the mountain is capped with snow, creating a picturesque landscape. Be prepared for a challenging climb, as it's often compared to a 3000-meter mountain in mainland Japan.
