The Shingu Ransawa Ukishima Plant Community, also known as the Floating Island Forest, is a unique natural attraction located in Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture. This nationally designated natural monument features a floating island formed from accumulated peat, home to around 130 species of plants, including rare and subtropical varieties. Visitors can explore the island via a walking path, experiencing the sensation of walking on a floating raft amidst lush greenery. The entrance fee is ¥100, and a visit takes approximately 10 minutes to an hour. Note that insect repellent is recommended during the summer months.
