Senpukuji Temple, founded in 1375, is a serene Soto Zen temple located in Kunisaki, Oita Prefecture. Once the head temple of the Soto sect in Kyushu during the Edo period, it features a striking two-story gate with stone Nio statues and a rare thatched-roof Buddha hall dating back to the Muromachi period, designated as an Important Cultural Property.
