Explore the historic Usuki Castle Ruins, now a beautiful park in Usuki City, Oita Prefecture. Originally built in 1562 by Christian daimyo Sorin Otomo on Danio Island in Usuki Bay, the castle was later governed by the Inaba family during the Edo period. Although once surrounded by the sea, it's now connected to the mainland. Usuki Park is famous for its stunning cherry blossoms, with around 1,000 trees blooming in spring, making it a prime spot for hanami (flower viewing). Easily accessible, it's a 10-minute walk from JR Usuki Station or a short drive from the Usuki IC. Visit to enjoy the blend of history and natural beauty.
