Curie Square

Overview

Curie Square, located near Koitani Bridge and in front of Kokumin Shukusha Brannar Misasa, is a plaza designed with a French-inspired theme, including an arch reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe. The square features a statue of Marie Curie, honoring her discovery of radium, which is a key component of Misasa Onsen's hot springs. Curie Festival is held annually, featuring events on the square's stage. While some find it lacking in attractions, it offers a unique, European-influenced atmosphere distinct from the traditional onsen town.
