The Ketsumyaku Zakura is a renowned ancient cherry tree located within the grounds of Kozenji Temple in Matsumae, Hokkaido. Estimated to be around 300 years old, this tree is the original specimen of the 'Naden' variety, a type of cherry blossom prevalent in the Matsumae area. Legend says that the tree was saved from being cut down after a divine encounter, and it continues to bloom beautifully each year. Visitors can admire its impressive size and the vibrant pink flowers of the 'Naden' variety, especially during the peak blooming season in mid-May.
